On behalf of Organizing committee of Orthocon 2013, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 27 thAnnual meeting of Pakistan Orthopaedic Association. It has been Organized by POA Peshawar on 21-
24th November 2013 at Serena Hotel Islamabad. The Theme of the conference is “FINDING ANSWERS-
IMPROVING LIVES”, which also reflects the objective of this conference. While at the conference, we will
not only have the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the latest trends in Orthopaedic surgery, but
also meet the trend setters in this field.
Conference will consists of several sessions running parallel to each other. Each session will consists of free papers as well as state of the art lectures delivered by world renowned
experts in that field. Sessions will include Trauma, Deformity, Arthroplasty, Spine, Hand surgery, Musculoskeletal Oncology, Rehab medicine etc. Beside academic sessions, there will be an industrial exhibition going on at
the same venue where you will have the opportunity to meet the high ranking officials of different
Pharmaceutical as well as implant and instrument manufacturing companies. Starting few weeks before
the conference, there will be a series of skill developing workshops, organized both for the beginners
as well as experts, in different fields of Orthopaedic surgery. These workshops will be conducted by
national and international experts in the relevant fields and will be useful both to the residents and
In order to add fun to the conference and make it more attractive for the participants as well as their
families, several social programs will also be organized. These includes a Gala dinner with musical
program where several famous national artists will perform. A “Mushaira”, and families visit to shopping
destinations are also on the card.
In short, this conference will be intellectually stimulating, academically satisfying and socially pleasing.
